An added anxiety for Dad was that his Mother was too frail to guide his now totally blind Father outside the house so he became completely housebound within the London target zone of enemy bombers. Dad survived the entire Siege of Malta and was amongst the first Infantry assault to invade Sicily, Italy and D-Day (Normandy). Mid 1945 Dad was discharged from the Army. He went into the forces A1 fit, but came out a physical and mental wreck. Many disabled service people were treated harshly by government bureaucrats. Every effort was made to dissuade veterans from claiming their rightful entitlement; this injustice continues to be CONTINUED
